Locked Tight - Super Butouden 2 - La Legende Saien
Being French and been raised in an era where the super nintendo was all the rage had some perks - interesting ones at that.
Dragon Ball Super Butouden 2, escaped the US audience to show up only in Japan and in Pal region with a French release released in June 94 - in France and Spain with a French translation for both countries. It still took for Bandai to port the game 7 months.
For those who have played the first Butoden everything was corrected from the slow ass animation to the sprites and overall quality of the title.
Being released in a pal territory meant there was quite a few differences from the Jap release, on the display with the black bands surrounding the screen and on the overall speed due to the 50hz standard in Europe.

Luckily enough the title had a cheat code you could perform with the second controller playing the game with a 1,5 x boost. Bear in mind this cheat code on the Japanese version makes it move not fast but crazy fast - which means you literally have to turn in super saiyajin to play the game.
Turning yourself in Supa' Saiyajin - is one part of the equation only - you will need to take of box full of painkillers to bear with the translation. If you're speaking French this game is well known to feature text translation that makes Google translate pretty much native in all languages.
In terms of gameplay the title exhibits different button press to release powerful attacks and introduction of meteor smash - Whilst the signature moves like Kamehameha and Final Flash uses same press to be triggered. (be distant from your enemy with the screen splitter triggers the move in all of its superb with ki explosion and all that crap - pretty cool though)
The main story segment is quite long and features the battle against Cell, Bojack (OAV) and Broly (OAV) to unlock that latter you will need to play in super difficulty with no death whatsoever. That's what I call a challenge, despite being relatively easy on the gamer what will be required in Super mode is strategy.
For the who's got the biggest player there's a tournament mode as well as a vs fighter that are optional. Speaking of options there's loads of good option and a Sound Test - the soundtrack being that good it worth the shot ripping to play it as a ringtone or just on its own.
Overall the game is solid, worth your attention and easily be found under 20 USD/CIB for the Japanese release. The French release however will have you cough around three times the price for a CIB. On that note happy retro friday !
